Greed and More Greed A twisted Dance by MP’s

New Zealand MP’s catch cry is how hard they work, have to travel to Wellington from their respective districts, run their electoral offices, if it is that hard why be an MP?

The question is: is it because they really care about the country and lifting it to a standard that would be the envy of the world?

Or the start of the race is an intention that is blinded by greed.

The latter seems to be the case, when for example the disabled, Intellectual Handicapped ( special needs) sick and elderly, or for example a working ordinary person is working forty hours a week at a service station for a pay of $13.00 per hour barley are able to live, pay the rent and buy food.

When an MP claimed $23,763 within six months as accommodation costs for living in the family home with a twisted dance of excuse on the edge of the laws, that it belonged to his wife, was in a family trust and for family reasons decided to stay in his own home where he was instead of renting a Crown house at the best an invalid on an invalid benefit (disable, special needs etc) can claim $40 per week.

Out of merge pay, or benefit for those that are unfortunate or not as able as most also comes the rent and power, not the MP he can claim that as well.

When an MP is paid over $200.000 per year and can claim from Ministerial Services for accommodation, expenses for power, insurance and other costs were on top of this.

Then why do MP’s get paid at all. Or is it they get paid great salaries greedily suck the taxpayer for their living as well, whereas the ordinary New Zealander is paid which all his utilities and food etc has to come out of his pay.

With modern technology the electoral offices seem redundant however one has to have a meeting place. Many times roaming New Zealand one can see they are closed and very rarely open for business.

Not all MP’s desire to live in Wellington however not all workers desire to leave their home towns for work but must do so to earn. The ordinary New Zealander do so at their own expense, not MP’s, if the MP desire is not to live in Wellington then the rent of a place at the time being in Parliament should come from his salary not at the taxpayers’ expense.

Excuse after excuse rolls out of Parliament that is lame, National party of NZ is defending the payments as within the rules. Simple ‘change the rules’

Most New Zealanders would not mind a reasonable salary for all parliamentarians and perhaps we would have better quality for the money spent if all MP’s were restraint to spending only what they are entitled to earn, (as by salary) and any other choice for example paying the power bill, rent, cars is paid by what they earn as every working New Zealander is expected to.

Excuse after excuse, a dance of twisted defence on the edge of “it is within the rules” Then change the rules to stop the systematic greed and stop telling ordinary New Zealanders to ‘save’ to do better, work harder when the income earned for many is not sustainable. No wonder New Zealand is seeing the rise of the homeless, crime, domestic violence, children in poverty
